The PPRABC promotes and stimulates the production of scientific information that contributes to the conservation of bats and their habitats.

PPRABC research priorities.

In accordance with our strategic plan, we have identified conservation priorities based on the three main threats to bat conservation in the ABC islands.

1. Loss of habitat.

·         Population status of species in threatened habitats.

·         Phenology of cacti, agaves and native trees.

·         Spatial distribution of species.

·         Migratory capacity of the Long-nosed bat (Leptonycteris curasoae).

2. Disturbance and destruction of diurnal refuges.

·         Searching, exploration and mapping of caves.

·         Identification and inventory of Priority Refuges.

3. Emerging threats.

·         Evaluating the impact of wind farms.

·         Exotic invasive species and their impact.
